Living the Lifestyle...Our Good Friend MIKE HUFFER on his Pacific Voyage
Mike Huffer, a former member of Eagle Creek Sailing Club, left on January 22nd, 2006 on his Witness 36 Catamaran 'Chica Bonita' on a world cruise with his friend Heather McIntosh. Mike was the owner of Highlander 935 as well as a number of other sailboats in Indianapolis and Florida. His most recent endeavor was spent as manager of Offshore Sailing School on Captiva Island, FL. Perhaps Mike (or Heather who also worked for Offshore) taught you to sail. Mike crewed for Charlie on his Highlander at many Highlander Nationals. Most recently in 2005 at Rock Hall, Maryland. A reunion of sorts was held with Mike and all of the other crew that raced with Charlie and Mike over the years with a daily crew swap. (pictures to come). Each of us got to spend some time with our friend Mike racing and having fun in a wonderful place on the Chaesapeake. Eileen crewed for Mike many times on one his boats over the years at Eagle Creek and other mid-west lakes.
